There are different types of sitars and the construction of a quality sitar differs for each type. Making of sitar is a complex process. These instruments are crafted by experienced sitar 'makers' or 'fitters'.This Kanai Lal Sitar has been designed according to Ravi Shankar Style & hence, it contains 7 Main Strings & 13 Sympathetic Strings along with a double toomba. This Sitar is about 48 inches in Length and weighs around 5 KG. This Sitar has been specially designed using Tun Wood.This Sitar is handcrafted in Calcutta by Sh. Subhash Bhowmick s/o Sh. Kanai Lal Bhowmick and also contains bridges made from camel bone. It contains tasteful inlay work and half decorated Angur patta manipuri design to give it a beautiful look and is dark mahogany in color. It is accompanied with Mizrabs & Extra Set of Strings. This Sitar also contains two toomba out of which one is main gourd toomba and other one is wooden.
